Why iDry?

Drying has never been easier than with iDry. In as little as two minutes, iDry’s calming air stream will warm you from top to toe, leaving your skin feeling silky smooth. Our hands-free technology is both clean and green, making it the best choice for you and the planet.

The World's Original Body Dryer

iDry is the evolution of the original body dryer, invented by our founder, Michael Godwin in 1991. Our products been revolutionising bathrooms for over 30 years.

How it works

The warm, gentle airflow created by the dryer causes water on the skin to evaporate, and ensures the whole body is evenly dried.

A cleaner shower

They may look clean and fluffy, but your towels are harbouring a very dirty secret. Because they are absorbent, remain damp for hours, and hang in dark, steamy bathrooms, towels are excellent breeding grounds for bacteria and other microorganisms to grow. A study by the University of Arizona found that around 90% of bathroom towels were contaminated with coliform bacteria and about 14% carried E. coli.

To protect our health, it is recommended that bath towels are washed after every three uses at least, and ideally, after every use.

iDry will dry you with no contact to the skin — just pure, warm air. This prevents the transmission of germs and bacteria, reduces the risk of infection, and improves acne and other skin conditions.

iDry Dryer

A greener shower

It may be better for your skin to wash your towels frequently, but it’s certainly not better for the planet. An average washing machine will use:

1.2
kilowatts of electricity per cycle
2.5
kilowatts in the tumble dryer
70
litres of water

Washing your towels also requires detergent, which can have a devastating effect on delicate ecosystems. Regular laundry detergents contain several chemical compounds and toxic heavy metals, such as cadmium and arsenic. Detergents do not biodegrade: instead, they pollute our waterways and harm aquatic life.

iDry is the sustainable alternative to towel drying. Requiring just 0.15 kilowatts of electricity per cycle, our drying system uses a fraction of the energy you would need to wash and dry your towels. You’ll also cut your water consumption, cut your carbon emissions, and stop toxic detergents from reaching our rivers and oceans.

By choosing iDry, you’re putting both your health and the health of the planet first.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to dry me?

Every body is different, so exact drying times will vary from person to person. The average drying cycle takes 3 minutes, but can take slightly more or less depending on ambient room temperatures.

How easy is it to use?

iDry was built to be accessible for all, no matter age or ability. Its air pressure remote is easy to operate, and can be positioned at the perfect height for you. Once you’ve turned it on, your work is done — let the dryer do the rest!

Is the dryer suitable for children?

Yes — the dryer is suitable for all ages. Children should be supervised when using the dryer.

What size is the body dryer?

The standard size of the iDry is 205cm tall (including the foot, both legs, and the pod). The depth of the pod is 26.5cm.

Can the size of the dryer be adjusted?

Yes, the iDry can be cut to suit your space (or your height!) The dryer’s bottom leg can be reduced by up to 44cm. If adjusting the length of the dryer, avoid cutting across the tear drop pores.

Will the iDry body dryer fit in my shower cubicle?

Yes! The dryer has been designed to fit snugly in the corner of your shower cubicle or wet room.

Can I install the dryer myself?

No. Whilst the dryer itself is easy to fit (the pod is suspended from a wall bracket, which fixes to the wall with two screws), electrical installation needs to be completed by a qualified electrician. Water and electricity do not mix, and bathrooms tend to be, well, wet. For your own safety, please leave the wiring to the experts.

Can you arrange installation for me?

Yes! Our nationwide team of fitters are able to install the dryer in your bathroom. Contact us for more information and pricing.

Do you work with distributors?

Absolutely – we are always looking to work with showrooms, plumbing suppliers, and other businesses. If you’d like to become an iDry distributor, please get in touch via our contact page.
